Mavis Batey Essay Prize, The Gardens Trust | October 2022
Awarded joint first prize in this international competition for young scholars who produce “vibrant, scholarly writing and new research” related to any aspect of garden history. This essay, titled An ‘Imaginary Landscape’: Bentham’s Botanical Vision for the Panopticon, is an adapted section from my Cambridge dissertation.

One of four Girton College students chosen to present. Awarded best abstract for Carving Out a Collective Identity.
Alpheus Henry Snow Prize | June 2021
Awarded the highest university-wide honor at Yale College given “to the senior who, through the combination of intellectual achievement, character and personality, shall be adjudged by the faculty to have done the most for Yale by inspiring in his or her classmates an admiration and love for the best traditions of high scholarship combination of intellectual achievement, character, and personality.”

Won this prize for the most outstanding essay in Spanish literature and culture for my piece, “Larra, el moderno europeo: El Castellano Viejo y la invención del flâneur.”

The Charles and Julia Henry Fellowship | September 2021 to June 2022
One of a few Harvard and Yale students awarded this highly competitive scholarship to fully fund my M.Phil. at the University of Cambridge. Following the 1927 will of Lady Julia Henry, it is rooted “in the earnest hope and desire of cementing bonds of friendship” between Britain and the United States of America.
